Author Events
The demand for Author Events at our bookstore has grown as word spreads of who we are and what we offer here at Spellbound. We are so grateful for this growth and hope that it continues in the future, however we are not able to fulfill all requests for Author Events. Therefore, we have come up with a process for future Author Events that will satisfy most requests:
Local Author Events
We have two options for Local Author events:
Meet & Greets
During a Meet & Greet, Authors are set up with a table and chair inside of our store for two (2) hours. Guests can drop by during this time to meet the Author and purchase books. Authors bring copies of their books and are welcome to bring merch. There is a non-refundable reservation fee of $25.00 to reserve a table. Authors will retain 100% of all sale proceeds during their Meet & Greet. The Author must be prepared to take payments from customers. Sign-ups are required in advance. Conversation with an Author & Book Signing
These are events we host in-store where a Staff member interviews the author in a short Q&A, members of the audience can ask questions after the discussion, and there is a book signing at the end. We will take photos of the event and post it on our Instagram and Facebook pages.
Indie Author Events - For these events we will prioritize Local Authors who are part of our Book Consignment Program. The Staff will select a book each month from our Local Authors Shelf to read (we will choose genres that appeal the most to our Customers). If there is a particular book we enjoy, we will reach out to that Author to set up an Author Event at Spellbound. Traditionally Published Author Events - If you are a Publisher/Publicist that would like to set up an Author Event for your Author at Spellbound, please email us via our contact form.
Private Author Events
If you are not chosen for an Indie Author Event with us due to limited availability, location, not being part of our Consignment Program, etc., you can still host a Personal Book Club, Book Launch, Author Q&A, and/or other Author Event by opting to reserve our store for a Private Author Event. We have limited availability so we recommend that you book your Private Author Event at least 2 months in advance.
Private Author Events are perfect for indie authors who want to host an event for their book(s). These private events are completely managed and marketed by you, however we have some resources to help you! Here's how it works:
You submit an Event Request to reserve our bookstore for your event. Details, fees, and availability are described in our Event Requests page.
Your event is confirmed once the reservation fee has been paid.
On the day of your event, we will arrange the room for your event and a staff member will be available if you have any questions or need special assistance.
