Every month we host various events at Spellbound, including Author Events, Children Story Time, Book Clubs, and more (see image for details). The demand for Author Events at our bookstore has grown as word spreads of who we are and what we offer here at Spellbound. We are so grateful for this growth and hope that it continues in the future, however we are not able to fulfill all requests for Author Events. Therefore, we have come up with a process for future Author Events that will satisfy most requests:
How it Works:
Authors bring physical copies of their books, merchandise, signs, etc. to display on their table. We will provide 4x6 and 8.5x11 display stands free of charge. It is recommended that you have a price list for your book(s) and merchandise to encourage sales.
No other chairs or tables will be provided. Spellbound Staff will help Authors set up their table and then Authors will be left to meet and greet whoever stops by their table.
Any sales of book(s) or merchandise will be through our POS system and the proceeds from all sales will be split between Spellbound and the Author 50/50. Authors will receive additional instructions about this in their confirmation email.
Registration is required in advance. Spots are available on a first come, first serve basis. Starting in January 2024, we will have several one-hour slots available each month, mainly on Saturdays and Sundays.
We will not announce/market these separately on our social media channels--instead we will announce Meet & Greets on our monthly calendar post. You are free to advertise these events on your own (whether on Facebook or Instagram) and tag us @spellboundbookstorefl and we will repost your graphic(s) leading up to the event.

Conversation with an Author & Book Signing - These are events we host in-store where a Staff member interviews the author in a short Q&A, members of the audience can ask questions after the discussion, and there is a book signing at the end. We will take photos of the event and post it on our Instagram and Facebook pages. For these events we will prioritize Local Authors who are part of our Book Consignment Program. The Staff will select 1-2 books each month from our Local Authors Shelf to read (we will choose genres that appeal the most to our Customers). If there is a particular book we enjoy, we will reach out to that Author to set up an Author Event at Spellbound. Traditionally Published Author Events - If you are a Publisher/Publicist that would like to set up an Author Event for your Author at Spellbound, please email us via our contact form.
Private Local Author Events - If you are not chosen for an Author Event with us due to limited availability, not being part of our Consignment Program, etc., you can still host a Book Launch, Author Q&A, Book Release Party, or other Author Event by opting to reserve our store for a Private Author Event. We will provide an Author Event Package to assist you with planning, marketing, and setting up your event.
